EDISON, NJ (November 4, 2021) – Quinnipiac University and Monmouth University advance to the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championship Final on Sunday, November 7 at 1 p.m. in West Long Branch, NJ.

The Quinnipiac University Bobcats created offensive opportunities throughout the entire game, but were unable to capitalize and break into the score column. After going down 1-0 late in the first half by a goal from Siena’s Emily McNelis, Quinnipiac finally broke through in the 84
th minute of regulation on a Rebecca Cooke goal assisted by Kayla Mingachos.
After remaining scoreless through both overtime periods forcing the game to penalty kicks, Quinnipiac’s Lauren Triglione took the final penalty kick sending the Bobcats to the 2021 MAAC Women’s Soccer Championship Final.

- Sophomore Rebecca Cooke’s score in the 84th minute was her 13th goal of the season, tying Niagara’s Florence Vaillancourt for the league lead.
- Sophomore Sofia Lospinoso recorded three saves in the victory.
- Quinnipiac outshot Siena 27-6, taking nine shots on goal compared to Siena’s four.

- Siena concludes their season going 9-10-1 and 6-4 in MAAC regular season play.
- Senior Emily McNelis delivered her sixth goal of the season.
- Senior goalkeeper Leslie Adams made eight saves in the loss.

2021 MAAC Women’s Soccer Championship – Semifinal

The Monmouth University Hawks advanced to the Women’s MAAC Soccer Championship Final after defeating the Fairfield University Stags, 4-0. The Hawks began the scoring four minutes into the match with a Jill Conklin score assisted by Ava Allen and Chloe Ferreira and never looked back.
The Hawks added goals from seniors Lauren Karabin, Alexis Marino and graduate student Erin Dailey to further the score. The Hawks are no stranger to the Women’s MAAC Soccer Championship advancing to their sixth-straight finals appearance.
Monmouth Notes
- Monmouth’s sophomore goalie Rebecca Winslow recorded her fifth shutout of the season.
- Senior Lauren Karabin’s goal is her ninth of the season, the third best mark in the conference.
- The four goals by the Hawks is the most they have scored in a competition since their 6-0 defeat of Fairfield on November 10, 2019 in the Women’s Soccer Championship Final.
Fairfield Notes
- Fairfield concludes their season going 9-7-4 overall and 5-4-1 in MAAC Regular Season play.
- Sophomore Elle Scott led the MAAC in shots per game this season and registered the first three shots in the game.
- The Stags placed four players on the 2021 All-MAAC teams including First Team selections Gabby Diodati and Scott.
