Preseason All-MAAC striker Elle Scott scored her first goal of the season and freshman Katie Wright notched nine saves in her first career start to help the Fairfield University women’s soccer team to a 1-0 victory at Holy Cross. A couple of nice passes created Fairfield's goal scoring chance in the 64th minute with the final connection going from Reagan Klarmann to Scott. After a nice display of footwork, Scott was able to get the ball to her left foot at the corner of the box and unleashed a strike to the upper right part of the net. The Fairfield defense took over to preserve the shutout victory, anchored by Wright, who made nine saves in her first career start and made several impressive stops in the second half. Wright would stop a point-blank stop on a breakaway in the 60th minute as well as making two diving stops in the final 15 minutes.

The Iona University women's soccer team picked up its first victory of 2022, defeating Delaware State 5-1 on Thursday evening. Kedarjah Lewis scored in her second straight game, while Mackenzie Albert and Gabby Dellocono tallied the first goals of their collegiate career in the win. Iona's offensive onslaught started early, beginning with Lewis (assisted by Sam Hogan) in the 10th minute of action. 13 minutes later after Lewis had her initial try on goal stopped, Hogan buried a try that Lewis assisted on. In the 30th minute, Kate McNally scored a beauty of a goal, blasting a ball out of the air off a corner to give the Maroon and Gold a 3-0 lead. Albert then notched the first goal of her career off a corner in the closing moments of the half, converting off a feed from Emily Drake. Coming out of the break with a four-goal advantage in the scoring column, the Gaels continued to put the pressure on as Dellocono tallied the first score of her collegiate career to make it a 5-0 contest in the 59th minute.

MAAC Preseason Player of the Year Rebecca Cooke scored twice in the second half to lead Quinnipiac women's soccer past Stony Brook on Thursday afternoon at the QU Soccer Stadium. Cooke scored once in the 50th minute of action to tie the game 1-1, then found the back of the net again in the 85th minute to lead QU to the comeback win. Reigning MAAC Offensive Player of the Week assisted on Cooke’s match-winning tally. Sofia Lospinoso made nine saves for the Bobcats, while Quinnipiac outshot Stony Brook 17-12 in total.

Makenzie Rodrigues scored the game-winning goal and Ellie Sciancalepore made seven saves as the Rider University women's soccer team its first-ever win over Villanova in the form of a 1-0 road victory on Thursday night. After a scoreless first half, Rodrigues scored the game-winning goal to the left upper 90 in the 52nd minute, while Sciancalepore completed her shutout with five of her seven saves in the second half. Despite a 22-7 discrepancy in shots and six Villanova corner kick attempts in the final 38 minutes of play, the Broncs were able to keep the Wildcats off the scoreboard.

In the 32nd minute, Bridget Dudziec connected for her first career goal to give Marist a 1-0 lead as the Red Foxes outshot the Bearcats 10-5 in the opening 45:00. Madison Bee scored in the 71st minute to lift Mount St. Mary's to a 1-1 draw at Robert Morris on Thursday afternoon. Taking advantage of a misplay by an RMU defender who played a ball from the midfield back toward RMU’s own goal, Bee was able to run down the bouncing ball and finish nicely with her left foot to equalize. Reigning MAAC Defensive Player of the Week Arden Lembryk had a pair of stops for the Mount.

The Purple Eagles fired off 13 shots on goal for the match, led by Emma Davies (4) and Emma Bough (3), but St. Bonaventure’s goalkeeper Chiara Gottinger made 13 saves in the full 90:00.

Freshman Iona Snape recorded her first career goal in the second half on Thursday night despite the Siena Saints falling to the University of New Hampshire Wildcats by a final score of 2-1. Angela Fini made a season-high eight saves in net for the Green and Gold. Both sides played a scoreless first half, as Fini held strong in net facing 11 shots in the first half. Snape's tally came in the 52nd minute, as she knocked a shot to the bottom right corner on a free ball in the box. Despite multiple scoring chances in the final 10 minutes from the Saints, the Wildcats held Siena scoreless through the final whistle.
The 2022 MAAC Women's Soccer Championship will take place from October 30 through November 6. The six-team, single-elimination championship will be hosted by the higher seed of each match. The opening round will take place on Sunday, October 30, followed by the semifinals on Thursday, November 3, and concluding with the championship match on Sunday, November 6.
