Tory Bike and Maddy Theriault each scored their first goals in a Stag uniform and goalkeeper Katie Wright recorded the clean sheet in leading Fairfield to a 2-0 victory over Bryant at Lessing Field on Thursday. The Stags would score a goal in each of the two halves while out-shooting the Bulldogs 20-10 in the contest. Bike regained a rebound off a defender from well outside the box and launched a long shot towards Sam Kersey in the center of the box; the ball bounced away from Kersey and would hit inside the net for Bike's first goal as a Stag. After pressuring the Bryant defense all game long, Theriault juked her defender right near the net to get room at her left foot and scored. Wright finished with six saves.

Iona topped Lafayette, 2-1, in the home opener at Mazzella Field on Thursday afternoon. Trailing 1-0 in the second half, Faith Preziosi scored to tie the game in the 62nd minute and Kedarjah Lewis tallied the game-winning score in the 82nd minute to help the Maroon & Gold remain unbeaten. Lewis danced her way around the defense to free herself up for a right-footed shot that she sent towards net while turning around, catching the keeper off guard to put Iona in front.

Manhattan picked up its first win of the 2022 season with a 1-0 victory over St. Francis Brooklyn on Thursday night. Julia Nicholas scored the lone goal in the 43rd minute with an assist from Izzy Lachcik. Nicholas got on the end of a pass from Lachick and moved her way through the Terrier defense, beating Terrier goalkeeper Klil Keshwar to the left post to put home her first of the season. Goalkeeper Kim Mains made three saves to earn her first shutout of the season.

A goal from Emma Davies in the 85th minute lifted Niagara to a 3-2 win over visiting Cornell Thursday night. Niagara took a 1-0 lead in the 22nd minute of action after Emily Hähnel found Amanda Cripps with a beautiful back heel pass, and Cripps placed it into the back of the net. Four minutes later, the Purple Eagles would make it a two-goal game when Djeynaba Thiam scorched the defense and deposited the ball into the right side of the net. A Niagara free kick in the 85th minute led to a scramble in front where Katie Diem and Thiam found Davies, who rifled one into the opposite end of the goal for the game winner. Goalkeeper Agnes Stenlund made two saves in the win.

Playing against her former team, Maevyn Jones scored with 14:59 remaining to lift Mount St. Mary's to a 1-1 tie against Radford at Waldron Family Stadium on Thursday night. Jones headed home the tying score off a beautiful Kalli Bell corner kick for her first goal as a Mountaineer. Radford had a pair of late chances for the go-ahead goal, but goalkeeper Drew Camp and the Mount defense stood strong to preserve the tie. In the 83rd minute, a Radford header from Helena Willson was cleared away from the back line by the Mount defense for a team save; the rebound went to Lilly Short, only to see her shot again stopped by the Mount backline for another team save. Camp made four saves in her collegiate debut while Mount’s defense added four team saves.

Siena battled to a scoreless draw with Sacred Heart at home on Thursday afternoon. The teams combined for just 10 total shots and four total corners in the defensive stalemate. With the tie, Siena is now unbeaten in 14 of its past 15 (10-1-4) matches at Hickey Field over the past three seasons. The Saints had their best chances in the first half, with Annie Bagnall registering a pair of clean looks, while Gabby DeAngelis narrowly misfired on a good look in tight. Goalkeeper Brooke Boermeester made a pair of saves in her season debut.

Canisius fell on a 72nd goal from Buffalo in a 1-0 road loss on Thursday. Goalkeeper Jordan Spencer made a season-high eight saves between the pipes for the Golden Griffins. After a tight first half that saw the team combine for just seven total shot attempts, Canisius had a pair of chances to get on the board early in the second frame. Tiani Fonoti authored the first opportunity as her sliding shot from right side of the box found the crossbar while Mia Iacona was unable to corral the rebound just in front of the left post before it went out of bounds. Less than 30 seconds later, Iacona came close to getting the Griffs on the scoreboard, but her shot attempt from 25 yards out glanced off the right post and rolled out of play.
The 2022 MAAC Women's Soccer Championship will take place from October 30 through November 6. The six-team, single-elimination championship will be hosted by the higher seed of each match. The opening round will take place on Sunday, October 30, followed by the semifinals on Thursday, November 3, and concluding with the championship match on Sunday, November 6.
