Saint Peter’s’ McLaughlin and Fairfield’s Gore Named Hercules Tires MAAC Student-Athletes of the Week

EDISON, NJ (April 6, 2022) – Saint Peter’s’ Diamond McLaughlin and Fairfield’s Kaya Gore have been named the Hercules Tires Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Student-Athletes of the Week.

McLaughlin had a great weekend at the Colonial Relays in Williamsburg, VA. The freshman continued to build off her stellar indoor season, taking third place in the 400 Hurdles with a time of 1:02.45. Not only was this a collegiate best mark for her in the event, but it was also an IC4A/ECAC qualifying time. She was also the second leg in the women's 4x200 relay team that placed ninth in the event with a time of 1:42.81.

The reigning MAAC Player of the Year is off to a 16-3 start to singles play this season, including a 9-1 record at #1 singles in dual matches. Most recently, Gore picked up a pair of MAAC singles victories at the #1 spot to run his winning streak to eight straight. Gore has also accumulated 10 doubles triumphs this season.
 
Academically, Gore is a Finance major in the Charles F. Dolan School of Business, where he boasts a 3.82 cumulative GPA.
