In the month of October, Pournaropoulos finished 4-0 in singles play and 2-4 in doubles play. In the Metro Masters Tennis Tournament held on October 2nd through 4th, Pournaropoulos was crowned champion as he finished first place overall in the men's open singles. Therefore, giving himself an automatic bid into the ITA Conference Masters Championship.

Women's Athlete of the Month
Willow Renton, Quinnipiac

Willow Renton finished October with a 4-1 record in both singles and doubles play, collecting eight wins at the Metro Masters Conference Tournament. In singles action, Renton defeated Margherita Trolese of Mount St. Mary's (6-3, 6-3), Amelie Gonzalez of Sacred Heart (6-1, 7-6) and Regina Herrera of Fairfield (6-0, 1-6, 1-0) before defeating teammate Caitlin Flower (6-2, 6-3) in the championship match to claim back-to-back Metro Masters Tournament singles titles.

Partnering with Flower in doubles, the duo earned four wins over opponents from Marist (6-3), Mount St. Mary's (6-2), Siena (6-1) and Fairfield (6-1) to capture their second straight Metro Masters doubles title. With the back-to-back titles, Renton secured her place at the ITA Conference Masters Championship this week in singles and doubles.
