Siena’s Russo & Wilson Claim VisitNJ Tennis Player of the Week Honors

Men’s Player of the Week:
Dante Russo, Siena
Jr., Deerfield Beach, FL, Florida Virtual School
 
Went 2-0 this week as part of the Saints' 7-0 victory against Colgate this past Sunday. Russo teamed with Edward Vo to defeat Jack Selati and Josh Israel 6-1 from the doubles #1 position and then defeated Selati from the singles #1 position 6-2, 6-4.
 
 
Women’s Player of the Week:
Alexa Wilson, Siena
Jr., Milton Keynes, United Kingdom, Millfield School
 
Wilson went 4-0 this week in matches against Binghamton on Saturday and Colgate on Sunday. In the team's 7-0 win against Binghamton, Wilson partnered with Meagan Brown to win the #1 doubles flight 6-3 against Abby Ackroyd and Natalia Aruj to help secure the doubles point. From the singles #3 position, Wilson bested Caterina Casadei 6-3, 6-3. Against Colgate, Wilson and Brown took care of Amelia Galin and Emme Levenson 6-4 at the #1 doubles spot.  From the singles #3 position, Wilson defeated Addie Eklund 6-3, 6-1.
 
 
 
The 2023 MAAC Men's & Women's Tennis Championships will take place on April 22 and 23 at Mercer County Park Tennis Center in West Windsor, NJ. This will be the 11th consecutive championship held at Mercer County Park Tennis Center dating back to the 2012 MAAC Men's & Women's Tennis Championships.
