Fairfield’s Olive-Blanco and Morkel, Marist’s Bockman Named VisitNJ Tennis Weekly Award Winners

In two matches against Niagara and Marist, Jonathan Olive-Blanco notched a total of four victories as he swept the week for himself all in top-flight contests. He opened against Niagara with a 6-4 victory at No. 1 doubles and followed that with a three-set victory at No. 1 singles. Tuesday against Marist he would nab a 6-3 doubles win alongside a straight set 6-0, 7-5 win in the singles' top-flight to remain undefeated in conference singles duels.
 
Women’s Co-Player of the Week
Lize-Alet Morkel, Fairfield

In a pair of MAAC matches against Marist and Niagara, Lize-Alet Morkel helped the Stags to a 5-0 conference record with a pair of wins. Despite both her matches against Marist halted while leading in singles and doubles, she picked up a 6-0, 6-3 victory at No. 2 singles and a 6-3 win at No. 2 doubles in the match at Niagara Saturday.
 
Women’s Co-Player of the Week
Jane Bockman, Marist

Jane Bockman was 4-0 for the Red Foxes. Bockman went 2-0 in the #1 singles position, defeating Rider and Lafayette. In the first position doubles, Bockman went 2-0 with partner Cloe Clements.
 
The 2023 MAAC Men's & Women's Tennis Championships will take place on April 22 and 23 at Mercer County Park Tennis Center in West Windsor, NJ. This will be the 11th consecutive championship held at Mercer County Park Tennis Center dating back to the 2012 MAAC Men's & Women's Tennis Championships.
