Siena’s Russo & Mount St. Mary’s Papadopoulou Take Home VisitNJ Tennis Weekly Honors

Dante Russo went 4-0 this past week, leading the Saints to two MAAC wins. Against Rider, Russo defeated Nathan Slattery 6-3, 6-3 at the singles #1 spot. He also teamed with Edward Vo to beat Slattery and Dhruv Tangri 6-4 at the doubles #1 spot. In competition against Niagara, the junior topped Trevor Masi 7-5, 6-1 at the singles #1 spot. Russo would team up again with Vo to get by Masi and Tanner Bedard 7-5 in doubles play.
 
Women’s Player of the Week
Victoria Papadopoulou, Mount St. Mary's
Fr., Ialysos, Greece
 
Victoria Papadopoulou made it a perfect 6-0 at No. 1 singles in the MAAC with a straight set win over Marist's Jane Bockman in a 7-0 win over the Red Foxes.  She then stretched her personal win streak to 12 with a straight set win at No. 1 singles over St. Bonaventure's, Alexandra Jannson, in the Mount's 4-3 win over the Bonnies.  Papadopoulou is now 19-3 this season in singles competition with a 12-match win streak at the No. 1 singles spot.
 
 
 

The 2023 MAAC Men's & Women's Tennis Championships will take place on April 22 and 23 at Mercer County Park Tennis Center in West Windsor, NJ. This will be the 11th consecutive championship held at Mercer County Park Tennis Center dating back to the 2012 MAAC Men's & Women's Tennis Championships.
