Men’s Player of the Week

Fairfield’s Jonathan Olive-Blanco earns Men’s Tennis Player of the Week honors after picking up a pair of singles wins in addition to a doubles victory in the No. 1 spot. Olive-Blanco also nabbed a trio of victories in two MAAC games for the Stags at home this week. On Sunday against The Mount, Olive-Blanco captured a 6-2 victory in doubles and followed that up with a win at No. 1 singles in straight sets 6-4, 6-2. Then on Tuesday against Siena he would earn another top-flight singles win with a straight-set victory once again, 6-3, 6-1.
Women’s Player of the Week
Lize-Alet Morkel, Fairfield
Gr., Somerset West, South Africa
This week’s Women’s Tennis Player of the Week recognition goes to Fairfield’s Lize-Alet Morkel. In a pair of league matches for the Stags this week, Lize-Alet Morkel went a perfect 4-0 for her side garnering a pair of wins at No. 2 doubles and two victories at the second singles spot as well. On Sunday against The Mount, she would win her doubles contests 6-2 before taking a three-set bout in singles, 6-1, 4-6, 6-4, while on Tuesday she would collect both a 6-4 doubles win and a straight set solo win, 6-4, 6-2.
The 2023 MAAC Men's & Women's Tennis Championships will take place on April 22 and 23 at Mercer County Park Tennis Center in West Windsor, NJ. This will be the 11
