Women’s Player of the Week:
Anagha Shankar, Quinnipiac
Fy., East Brunswick, N.J., East Brunswick High School
 
First year Anagha Shankar helped the Bobcats to their first MAAC win of the season in a dominant 6-1 win over Marist. She went 2-0 with a dominant 6-0 win at No. 3 doubles with partner Nikole Lisovyy. Shankar also won her No. 1 singles match in straight sets 6-3, 6-2.
 
Men’s Player of the Week:
Shaurya Sood, Quinnipiac
Sr., Amritsar, India, Boca Prep International School
 
Senior Shaurya Sood led the Bobcats to a 4-3 win over Wesleyan to finish their nonconference schedule. He went 2-0 in the match, teaming up with Daniel Velek to win their No. 1 doubles match 6-4 to help secure the doubles point. He also won his singles match at No. 3 spot in straight sets 6-3, 6-3 over Harry Collomb to help the Bobcats secure the win.
 
 
The 2024 MAAC Men's & Women's Tennis Championships will take place on April 20-21 at Mercer County Park Tennis Center in West Windsor, NJ. The 2024 Championships will be the 12th consecutive time the event is held at Mercer County Park Tennis Center dating back to the 2012 MAAC Men's & Women's Tennis Championships. With 11 institutions strongly bound by the sound principles of quality and integrity in academics and excellence in athletics, the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) is in its 43rd year of competition during the 2023-24 academic year. Current conference members include: Canisius University, Fairfield University, Iona University, Manhattan College, Marist College, Mount St. Mary’s University, Niagara University, Quinnipiac University, Rider University, Saint Peter’s University, and Siena College. Merrimack College and Sacred Heart University will join the MAAC as full members in the 2024-25 academic year, expanding the conference to 13 institutions.
