Quinnipiac’s Duo of Hoxha and Renton Sweep Jersey Mike’s MAAC Tennis Weekly Awards

Men’s Player of the Week:

Elias Hoxha went 3-0 between singles and double to help QU move 7-0 in MAAC play this weekend. On Saturday, Hoxha defeated Mount's Evans 6-2, 6-2 at No. 4 singles after teaming up with Alex Yang to win their No. 2 doubles match over Mount 6-3. Against Sacred Heart, Hoxha won his No. 4 singles match in three sets, 6-1, 2-6, 6-2 and his doubles match went unfinished as the Bobcats had clinched the doubles point.
 
Women’s Player of the Week:
Willow Renton, Quinnipiac
FY., Goshen, Kentucky, North Oldham High School
 
In two MAAC matches this weekend, Renton went 4-0, pushing QU to a 7-0 conference record. She first teamed up with Caitlin Flower at No. 1 doubles on Saturday against Mount, winning 6-2. She dominated at No. 1 singles to defeat Mount's Tang 6-2, 6-0. Against Sacred Heart, she won her No. 1 doubles match with Flower 6-2 before coming from behind in her No. 1 singles match to defeat SHU's Bartyzel 3-6, 6-0, 6-3.
 
The 2025 MAAC Men's & Women's Tennis Championships are a six-team, single-elimination championships taking place on April 25-27 at Mercer County Park Tennis Center in West Windsor, NJ. The 2025 Championships will be the 13th consecutive time the event is held at Mercer County Park Tennis Center dating back to the 2012 MAAC Men's & Women's Tennis Championships.
